The English lecture Fiber Communication System and Network which is faced to overseas master degree students has been designed since 2013. The course group is constituted by Yaojun Qiao, Zhitong Huang and Rentao Gu. During the construction, group members looked up plenty of related courses include international and domestic,especially related material in English, and we have also read plenty of new research papers and text books. After many discussions, based on the opinions from professors in and around our school, we determined the core of course and teaching outline. Course construction team determined the reference books,formulated the teaching plan, developed the multimedia courseware, designed practical teaching link, which are around the outline. After one year preparation, the basic course construction has been completed. Yaojun Qiao focused on optical fiber system, Zhitong Huang focused on new technologies of optical communication system, Rentao Gu focused on optical fiber communication network.

We chose foreign textbook ”Fiber-Optic Communications Systems, Third Edition, GovindP. Agrawal” and “SDN: Software Defined Networks, 1st Edition, Thomas D.Nadeau and Ken Gray” as our reference books which enjoy great popularity and authority.

Our classes begin at each spring semester, which is in English faced to overseas students, and the teaching scale is round 20 students.
